Sivan Nir, Ph.D.
Short Biography
Sivan Nir has been working on the research project Job in Early Medieval Jewish Literature since November 2025 (PI: Univ.-Prof. Mag. Dr. Dr. Constanza Cordoni, Duration: 01.08.2025 - 31.07.2028, Funding by: FWF).
Nir specializes in the field of reception, focusing mainly on biblical characters, stories, and poetics. His work explores their interactions in the Bible, Midrash, and Medieval Commentaries, along with the rich interreligious contexts that shaped these sources. Consequently, he has published two of the most extensive monographs ever written on the medieval Jewish reception of biblical figures and the tales of the Rabbinic sages.
